Larisa Stow & Shakti Tribe to Debut in Julian on September 30th

Wynola's Daily Perc, the newest addition to the stores in Wynola Farms Marketplace, will be hosting a special benefit concert featuring the Los Angeles-based band Larisa Stow & Shakti Tribe on Friday, September 30th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  The band will also be performing a very special Peace Concert for the children at Spencer Valley Elementary School earlier that same day.
Larisa Stow & Shakti Tribe will be performing their rock-oriented style of “East meets West” music which mixes kirtan (devotional call-and-response), mantra and uplifting songs. Fronted by Los Angeles Music Award’s “Singer/Songwriter of the Year” Larisa Stow, the band’s music celebrates unity, culture and diversity through their messages of peace, hope and love. Stellar musicianship and Larisa’s dynamic style have made them a popular act at festivals, interfaith churches and yoga studios. So dedicated to bringing these messages to everyone, the band formed their own non-profit Shakti Tribe Foundation in 2007 as a way to raise awareness and funds to go to places where people are at a crossroads, including prisons, juvenile detention centers  and halfway houses.  During these special peace programs, Larisa & Shakti Tribe use their music as a foundation to weave in transformational tools that include mantra, meditation, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and yoga to instill personal responsibility, self-worth, reduce anger and create positive attachments to their families and communities.
Tickets at the door are $12 each—children under 12 are free, and the money raised from the evening’s ticket sales will benefit the Shakti Tribe Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit project of the International Humanities Center.  Orfila Winery, Julian Hard Cider, and Wynola's Daily Perc will all stay open during the concert so that food, coffee, cider and wine will be available for purchase during the performance. Come enjoy the sunset views of Volcan Mountain from the back patio while enjoying this very special musical opportunity, and help support a great cause at the same time.
